Each year on November 2, broadcasters across the country take a moment to recognize one of the most essential roles in our industry: the traffic director. While audiences may never see them on screen or hear them behind the mic, traffic professionals are at the center of every station’s success, ensuring schedules are accurate, programming runs smoothly and every commercial message reaches listeners and viewers as intended.

Their work requires precision, organization, communication and a calm approach to challenges that can change minute by minute. At the Kansas Association of Broadcasters, we are proud to celebrate and thank these dedicated professionals who keep Kansas stations running strong every single day.

Traffic Directors in the Spotlight

This year, KAB invited stations across the state to submit short tribute videos recognizing their traffic directors. We love seeing the appreciation firsthand, and we’re excited to share a few messages from colleagues who work with these exceptional individuals every day.

Gift Card Giveaway

To mark the occasion, KAB also hosted a gift card giveaway to thank Kansas traffic directors for their hard work and dedication. Five traffic directors received Amazon gift cards in celebration of National Traffic Directors Day as a token of appreciation for the critical role they play in keeping our stations on track.

Our lucky winners were:

  • Radonda Buford, Kansas Broadcast Company – Northwest
  • Stacey Zubia, Kansas Broadcast Company – Southwest
  • Stacie Immenschuh, Eagle Media – Great Bend
  • Dawn Vieregge, KGGF – Coffeyville
  • Robin Richey, KSNF TV – Joplin/Pittsburg

We are grateful for Kansas traffic directors and the time, care and professionalism they bring to their work each day. Thank you for your commitment to excellence and for helping broadcasters serve our communities so effectively.

To all traffic professionals across Kansas: we appreciate you, today and every day.
