Armbruster Receives Hod Humiston Award

Dustin Armbruster is the 2024 Hod Humiston Award Recipient. Dustin has been employed at Eagle Radio in Hays since July of 2005. He currently is the operations manager, program director for KKQY, hosts “The Bull Morning Show” on 101.9 FM, provides play-by-play for Hays High School broadcasts and color commentary for Eagle’s broadcasts of Fort Hays State University football and basketball. He also provides content for the sports section of Hays Post and handles commercial production. Dustin also previously worked in the sales department for a period of ten years.

Dustin has previously been honored for his on-air work by the Kansas Association of Broadcasters in multiple categories, including play-by-play, DJ personality, and sportscast. He was the 2013 and 2022 winner of the Oscar Stauffer Sportscaster of the Year award.

Dustin’s community involvement includes many different boards including Hays Recreation Commission Board, Hays Youth Basketball Tournament Board, Hays High Athletic Hall of Fame Board, Hays High Athletic Booster Club Board, and the CTE Advisory Committee at Hays High School.

He has also coached within the community for the past 15 years. Dustin emcees several events in the community, is a guest speaker within schools in the area and has spoken at Field of Faith events.

Dustin has been married to his wife Wendy since 2004. They have three daughters, a senior in college, a freshman in high school and a sixth grader.
