September Chairman’s Message

Anyone else feel like summer is over and we’ve moved on from it, yet mother nature didn’t get the memo? Temperatures aside, I hope September is coming in hot with new opportunities, goals, focus and motivation for you and your team!

KAB is super excited about our annual convention this year and hope you are planning to join us in Overland Park on October 23rd!  Allison has put together a great lineup of speakers as well as more networking time and opportunities! September 15^th is the early bird registration deadline, which means you should probably put a reminder in your calendar now to get that done. Also, don’t forget KAB’s Annual Meeting to elect new board members will be held at the convention, and we must have a quorum of stations represented. If you are a GM not able to make the convention this year, please contact Allison to get a proxy form or designate a voter in your place.

In addition to the October 23^rd convention, online registration is also open for the Hall of Fame Banquet on October 22^nd with an outstanding class of inductees to be honored. Congratulations to Mike Manns, Dale Morrell, Randy Picking and Ian Punnett for their Hall of Fame selections, as well as Theresa Seitnater (Mike Oatman), JJ Hayes (Sonny Slater), Sam Stueve (Rising Star Radio) and Annette Lawless (Rising Star TV) award winners! What a phenomenal group of individuals that have contributed and accomplished so much for our great profession and industry. Reading their biographies and success stories is truly humbling and inspiring!

On that note, it’s time to get back to the grind with a new exciting school year and sports seasons underway! Competition is kicking in and I challenge you to find new wins, for yourself and for your team, while celebrating progress and victories this fall.  As always, please let KAB know if we can help in any way.
