Chairman’s Message
Justin Fluke, KNZA Radio Group HiawathaGreetings broadcast friends,
Fall has always been my favorite time of the year! Football has a lot to do with that but so does cooler weather, the beautiful colors and the final-months push to make the last chapters of the year a great storybook ending. I’m also super excited for the KAB convention in Overland Park on October 23. This annual event is one I hope you will also make a priority. I am confident you will be inspired and enjoy the wealth of information as well as the tremendous opportunity to network with other smart and energetic broadcasters!
The KAB is working hard to prepare for the upcoming KAB Convention with a great line-up of speakers and new additions to the convention, like networking hours, shortened schedule, an elevated Station Awards Dinner and KAB Foundation Auction with great prizes, including Chiefs tickets, vacations to Mexico and Branson and even a Beermaster Tour in St. Louis. If you haven’t registered your station yet, be sure to register by October 13!
Also, KAB’s Annual Meeting to elect new board members will be held at the convention, and we must have a quorum of stations represented. If you are a GM not able to make the convention this year, please contact Allison to get a proxy form or designate a voter in your place.
Also on the radar – The Engineering Academy is back with a 201 Seminar on Nov. 15 hosted by Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas associations. The academy is for both novice and experienced broadcast engineers. Register your engineers now for this informative event and also invite any aspiring broadcast engineers that you might know or are in the pipeline.
What you are doing as Kansas broadcasters is important! The difference you make in the local communities and advertisers you serve is vital. Keep up the great work! And I look forward to seeing you this month at the KAB convention!
All the best,
Justin Fluke
