Description: Description Specializes in covering the news, produces daily news for radio newscasts, produces in-depth radio features, and produces special reports as assigned. Key activities Write clear, easily understandable stores that focus on the "now" angle of a story Flawlessly deliver hourly on air newscasts, headlines and breaking news Write and post news stories to web and social media platforms. Post photos and video online Provide traffic reports and severe weather coverage. Generate story ideas; monitor emergency police and fire scanners May include late nights, weekends, holidays and an on-call rotation. Other duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications: Education: High School diploma required; Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field preferred. Experience: Experience in journalism or radio production. Experience in news anchoring and reporting for a broadcast or online news operation preferred. Skills & Abilities: Must be detail oriented and possess excellent on-air radio skills Strong studio and board operator skills Excellent communication and delivery skills Ability to work well under pressure Strong problem solving abilities Computer proficiency Knowledge and adherence to high ethical standards. Ability to work within a live broadcast environment Effective interpersonal skills Ability to meet daily deadlines under pressure and multitask Work Environment Fast-paced
