Description: Human Resources seeks candidates for the Senior Sales/Underwriting Associate position at KTWU. Come join the most EMMY nominated and EMMY winning team in northeast Kansas. KTWU has a 50 year broadcast history serving 39 counties. We would like to meet You! Responsibilities This Senior Underwriting/Sales Associate builds KTWU's business success by identifying, qualifying and selling prospects on KTWU's unique slate of broadcast, digital and new media products. The primary purpose of this position is to generate revenue for the general operations of KTWU and any specific KTWU content initiatives. Consistently interacts with senior management to review budget needs, establish budget goals and review revenue budget accomplishments. Must be able to grow knowledge of the NE Kansas region; identify, cultivate, close, collaborate and maintain good client relationships. Has marketing knowledge of corporate, individual, national, regional, local and digital assets. Must have initiative to secure accounts, be able to communicate effectively, posses s confidence and excellent organizational skills. Researches, analyzes and processes pertinent data from a variety of sources (PBS, CPB, other local broadcasters, advertising agencies, print entities, Nielsen, MRI, on -line and mobile providers). This professional should be able to recognize trends, set course and direction and assist clients in meeting their objectives through the various services and products of KTWU. This professional should make recommendations on new selling techniques and new products/services that can be offered by KTWU. Works with Produc tion colleagues to produce client on- air spots and other content products . Works with Underwriter/Sales colleagues to monitor billing and collections activities for timeliness and accuracy. Assists in the development of "Delinquent Accounts" and strategize s for client renewals. Works with Traffic colleagues for proper scheduling, monitoring and reconciliation. Works closely with Programming/Content and Social Media to adequately strategize corporate, individual, national, regional, local and digital assets sales. Works closely with KTWU Marketing and Promotion to create sales and information packets for client presentations. Works with Events colleagues and Membership colleag ues to plan and secure adequate funding for implementation. Meets with and provi des information to the "KTWU Underwriter Council". Recruits new members to the Council. Performs additional job related duties as assigned and as needed to accomplish the financial mission of KTWU.
Qualifications: Required Qualifications : Three to four years’ of successful work experience in advertising, sales, marketing or public relations. Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets University standards. Preferred Qualifications : Bachelor's Degree. F ive years of experience in advertising, sales, mar keting or public relations. Knowledge of public media, non- profit organizations or governmental organizations. Knowledge of mobile technology, social media and the selling of digital assets.
